Discrete Manufacturing

Discrete manufacturing involves the creation and assembly of finished distinct products.

Because the manufacturing process is incredibly complex, discrete manufacturing is characterized by the production of individual or distinct units in low volumes.

Difference between Discrete and Process Manufacturing

In process manufacturing, formulas and recipes are used to create products, while in discrete manufacturing, pieces are assembled in a predetermined process to produce the desired product. Process manufacturing does not create products with individual differentiation, whereas discrete manufacturing does.
